Strategic International/ K.Kataras SA, one of the leading Strategy Consulting firms for the New Economy, has announced today the release of the yearly publication "Strategic's TELECOMS Observatory 2000", a unique publication offering a complete mapping of the Greek Telecommunications market.
"We are delighted with this new publication, that sets new standards in the field in Greece and Europe", stated Mr. Kostas Kataras, CEO of the company.

The leaders of the new "Digital" reality

At a time when information is the most powerful asset, those who possess information and the means for its transfer become the leaders of the new "digital" reality.
The rapid expansion of the Internet, the inherently appropriate medium for transfer and management of information, as well as its incorporation into traditional telecommunications networks, such as mobile telephony or satellite/cable television, further strengthen the role of communications in today's world.
The frenzied technological evolution further promotes the expansion of telecommunications, offering access even from the most secluded spots on earth, at incredible voice and data transfer speeds, as well as a great number of new products and services. Besides, we are approaching the time when the "global village" will enjoy unified telecommunications services, which will also be wireless and will provide simultaneous transfer of voice, data and video.
As a matter of fact, the EU is striving to harmonise the legal frameworks of all its member-states towards that direction, so that on a the near future the establishment of a common West-European telecommunications network will be made possible.
The great volume of the telecommunications market (in W. Europe it reached the amount of 250 bln Euros in 1999, a greater amount than the respective IT market, which reached 220 bln Euros for the same time period), makes it, besides a medium, quite an interesting business activity sector, which has to be measured and described accurately and in time. This is the need that is covered by the yearly publication "Strategic's TELECOMS Observatory 2000", covering almost the entire geography of the European Continent (including Greece, S.E. Europe and the European Union), as regards the relevant Telecommunications Indicators.

Healthy Telecommunications Indicators for Greece

As opposed to the ones for Computing, the Telecommunications Statistical Indicators for Greece, as recorded in the publication, look healthy, while the market has climbed to 2.041 trillion Drs in 1999, according to measurements by Strategic International SA.
